RUSSELL'S BIOGRAPHY The career of Russell Thompkins, Jr., began over 30 years ago, as the lead singer of the Stylistics. Led by Russell's distinctive high tenor, the group recorded some of the finest soft-soul music of the 70's. They enjoyed enormous popularity and consistently stayed near the top of the Pop and R&B charts between 1971 and 1974.
As of May 2000, Russell has embarked on a solo career. He has completed a new album with Christopher Bieheler, President of Forevermore Music and Records, based in Rochester, NY. The album was released in September of 2002. This album is a compilation of new material and well-known standards.
Russell is looking forward to a solo career just as distinguished and rewarding as his career with the Stylistics. To compliment his outstanding vocal ability, he is currently a piano student at the Settlement Music School, In Philadelphia.
On January 6, 2004 Russell became an official member of the Voice Distributions family. Make sure you order this wonderful CD from us here.
Many thanks go out to his fans and supporters who have remained loyal over the years. His expectation is to continue to provide them with the music that they have come to know and love.
